Demystifying PRGF – Impact on employers and the Mauritian economy

Published on: Friday, 11 March 2022

The Portable Retirement Gratuity Fund (PRGF) came into operation on 1 January 2020 and in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Government allowed a 2-years suspension period to alleviate the burden of this monthly contribution by employers.

Starting January 2022, it is now mandatory to contribute to the PRGF, undoubtedly raising questions on its requirements and ultimate need, especially with the possibility of seeking a private pension scheme (PPS) duly approved by the Financial Services Commission (FSC).

Andersen in Mauritius, in association with Prism Chambers, are pleased to invite you to the webinar titled Demystifying PRGF - Impact on employers and the Mauritian Economy, on Tuesday 8 March 2022 at 10.30 a.m. (Mauritius time).

Our distinguished panel of speakers will aim to, amongst others:

  • clarify certain grey areas in relation to the PRGF
  • make a comparative analysis between PRGF and a PPS to facilitate the choice for employers
  • analyse the impact of PRGF on the recovery of the Mauritian economy following the Covid-19 pandemic.
